THE ORIGINAL GREEN SIGNAL

MISS THE FROG.
MISS THE LORE.

Born before the feed. Built for the timeline. Kermit has survived every format the internet could invent.

FIELD NOTES

THE LORE
COMPOUNDS.

Four eras. One face. No reboot required.

01
1955
THE ORIGIN

A coat. Jeans. Ping-pong eyes.

Jim Henson built the first Kermit for Sam and Friends from his mother’s discarded green coat, denim, and split ping-pong balls. Before icon. Before frog. Pure garage-built lore.

02
1969
THE EVOLUTION

The creature becomes the frog.

The early Kermit was lizard-like. By the television special Hey, Cinderella!, the identity had resolved: amphibian, optimist, reluctant leader of beautiful chaos.

03
2014
THE TEA ERA

Silence became shade.

‘But that’s none of my business’ spread through Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter. One sip turned Kermit into the internet’s calmest witness to chaos.

THE DARK MIRROR

Me talked to me.

A still from Muppets Most Wanted became Evil Kermit: the responsible self facing the hooded impulse. The internet had found its inner monologue.

WHY KERMIT

“THE MOST RELATABLE CREATURE ON THE INTERNET WAS CREATED BEFORE THE INTERNET.”

Optimistic enough to lead. Tired enough to understand. Petty enough to sip tea. Kermit is not one mood. He is the whole reaction folder.
